HOMILY: Satan's Twisted Mercy

We are in need of the Lord's mercy, but we have to be serious about that. The greatest and most effective temptation, that Satan can bring is to be presumptous of God mercy, either because we think we don't need it, or that we never acknowledge our specific sins and seek God's mercy.If we don't acknowledge how we've offended the Lord, we can't be ready for the remedy to those offenses. When we make a good examination of conscience and go to confession, we make room in our hearts for the Lord's mercy.
